Quality Control Process

1. Raw Material Inspection

  • Soil and water testing at contracted farms before planting season
  • Pesticide application records reviewed for compliance with target-market MRLs
  • Harvested bulbs randomly sampled for size distribution, external appearance, and cutting test
  • Rejection of lots with >3% defects (mechanical damage, sprouting, mold, pest damage)

2. Processing & Grading

  • Mechanical grading by diameter: 4.5cm, 5.0cm, 5.5cm, 6.0cm, 6.5cm+
  • Manual sorting line for visual defects: discoloration, broken skin, undersized bulbs
  • Root cutting and stem trimming to buyer specifications (1.5cm-2.5cm stem length standard)
  • Drying tunnel for surface moisture removal before packing

3. Laboratory Testing — Every Export Lot

Test Category Parameters Standard
Pesticide Residues 400+ active substances (GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS) EU 396/2005, destination-country MRLs
Heavy Metals Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Arsenic (As) EC 1881/2006, GB 2762
Microbiology Total Plate Count, Coliforms, E. coli, Salmonella, Yeast & Mold ISO 4833, ISO 6579
Mycotoxins Aflatoxins B1/B2/G1/G2, Ochratoxin A EC 1881/2006
Sulfur Dioxide SO2 residue (if fumigated) Destination-country limits

4. Packing Inspection

  • Net weight verification per bag/carton (statistical sampling, AQL 2.5)
  • Packaging material integrity check (mesh bag tensile strength, carton crush resistance)
  • Label compliance verification (product name, grade, size, weight, origin, lot number, date)
  • Temperature check: product core temperature ≤0°C before container loading

5. Container Loading Supervision

  • Pre-loading container inspection (cleanliness, odor, refrigeration unit function)
  • Temperature log placed in container for transit monitoring
  • Product loaded at ≤0°C core temperature into pre-cooled container
  • Container seal recorded and photographed; seal number appears on shipping documents

Traceability

Every export lot is traceable back to the farm group and harvest date through our lot-number system. Lot numbers appear on all packaging and shipping documents. In the event of a quality concern, we can trace from finished product back to field level within 24 hours.

Third-Party Inspection

We welcome and routinely coordinate third-party pre-shipment inspections through SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek, or buyer-nominated inspectors. We recommend inspection for first-time orders to build buyer confidence.

Certificate copies and full lab test reports are available on request. Contact our quality team for documentation.
